Meet the Founder

Since childhood fashion
always intrigued me. 
I always dreamt of having my
own brand which
reflected my aesthetics        says Shilpi.

Shilpi was felicitated as one of the Top 100 Womennovators of India in 2018 for promoting sustainable, scalable and inclusive fashion. A jury, comprising of Babul Supriyo, Naina Lal Kidwai, Suresh Raina, Paresh Rawal, Blossom Kochhar and Sonam Wangchuk, selected the 100 inspirational women.

Shilpi is the Founder member and Past President of the Maharashtra Chapter of the Confederation of Women Entrepreneurs (COWE) (2020- 2022).

Shilpi Datta Som – costume designer and fashion stylist – is known for her innovative cuts and patterns for kids’ wear. She has an intrinsic sense of textiles, textures, cuts, colours, patterns and proportions with an innate understanding of how fabrics move, drapes, breathes and react when worn.

Shilpi is concerned about the environmental impact of the fashion industry and is determined to make the her brands processes sustainable.

Shilpi was recommended and sponsored by European Union and UN Women, for the  UNCTAD’s Empretec India programme in 2021. It is the flagship capacity-building programme of the United Nations, set up by UNCTAD, to promote innovative and internationally competitive, and sustainable SMEs. Subsequently, she was invited to join as an Advisor to UNCTAD’s Empretec India Foundation.


Shilpi first showcased her innovative cuts and patterns for kids wear in 2016, India Kids Fashion Week (IFKW) show at Mumbai. In 2019, Shilpi presented in the opening day in  IFKW’s first international show in Dubai. She was one of the eight designers who participated from India and was awarded the ‘Best Ethnic Designer’.

In July 2018, Mattel Toys Inc., USA, entered into a retainer agreement with Many Frocks &. for designing, manufacturing and selling Barbie party dresses/ Indo western-wear and accessories for girls in the online space.
